Bio

Yana Lapaix is a visual artist.
Her childhood experience in the Black Forest region of Germany has informed her strong connection to nature, often expressed in her paintings.
In her artwork she often combines various materials and techniques, enjoying the intuitive process during the development of a painting.
While she has trained as a teacher, and received a Master of Arts from the University of Helsinki, she is passionate about art as a means of communication.
Her work often gets attributed to modern surrealism, and the topics are inspired by social justice themes, the urge for environmental protection and to teach ourselves and our children that we can make a difference.
